Group Exhibition – Traces
Every artwork begins with a mark. Every life leaves something behind. Edition 02 – Traces brings together visual artists who find meaning in what remains, the traces of time, memory, and human presence that shape the world we see and the one we carry within.
Open to all visual artists worldwide, 18+
Accepted techniques: Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Collage, Photography, Digital Art (non-AI)
Submissions open: 01.06.2026
Deadline: 18.06.2026
Submission fee: Free to apply. Participation fee of €25 applies only if your work is selected. Payment via Bank Transfer, PayPal or Revolut. Details will be sent upon confirmation after submitting your work.
Every participant receives a place in the digital catalogue and a YouTube video presentation, regardless of the selection outcome.
Selected artists additionally receive: a dedicated place in the online exhibition · a Certificate of Selection · a social media feature on Instagram and Facebook · their work archived for one year.
About Marea Gallery Open Calls
Marea Gallery organizes themed group exhibitions and solo exhibitions for visual artists. Group exhibitions are built around a specific theme artists are invited to explore that theme through their own perspective. Solo exhibitions offer a dedicated space for a cohesive body of work; curated, personal, and entirely yours. All open calls are open to visual artists aged 18 and over, from any country. Each submission is reviewed personally by the curator. Selected artists are notified by email.
What selected artists receive
For group exhibitions, all participants receive a place in the edition digital catalogue and YouTube video presentation, regardless of the selection outcome. Selected artists additionally receive a dedicated place in the online exhibition, a Certificate of Selection, and a social media feature on Instagram and Facebook. The winner receives a highlighted position in both the online exhibition and the digital catalogue.
For solo exhibitions, every accepted artist receives a dedicated exhibition page with up to 15 works, a YouTube video presentation, social media feature on Instagram and Facebook, and an archive for one year. The Solo + Interview package additionally includes a published Q&A interview on mareagallery.com.
Submission requirements
For group exhibitions:
- Format: JPG or PNG
- Maximum file size: 10MB
- Minimum resolution: 1500px on the longest side
- No filters, no watermarks
- 2 works per submission
- Accepted techniques: Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Sculpture, Mixed Media, Collage, Digital Art (non-AI).
For solo exhibitions:
- Format: JPG or PNG
- Maximum file size: 10MB per image
