ABOUT THE ARTIST

Tamara Perusic

Tamara Perusic is a Croatian painter and the founder and curator of Marea Gallery. A graduate of fine arts, computer science and business management, she works primarily in acrylic, with occasional use of oil on canvas or MDF. Her work combines figurative and abstract expression, with recurring motifs from nature, animals and the sea. A distinctive pixel effect and the use of vibrant, expressive colour have become her recognisable signature. Her paintings capture fragments of memory and moments from life, scenes that carry a sense of joy, peace and connection with the natural world.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Wild Silence explores the space between strength and stillness, movement and quiet, instinct and inner balance. These works are not literal representations; they are emotional responses. Landscapes, trees, light, floral forms and organic rhythms are transformed through expressive gesture and layered texture into something that feels both immediate and timeless.

Nature has always been my primary source of dialogue and inspiration. In this series, I was interested in what happens when you slow down and truly look, not at the shape of a flower or the outline of a tree, but at the feeling they carry. Each painting began with that feeling, not with a plan.

Wild Silence is an invitation to pause.
