Loredana Di Cianni – ViVe

This space is dedicated to one artist and one vision. Fifteen paintings move between figuration and dream, hypercoloured women who emerge from the canvas with their own energy, their own stories, and their own silence. Created through a process of inner listening, with eyes closed and hand free, each ViVa is an encounter between intention and the unexpected.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Loredana Di Cianni

Loredana Di Cianni is an Italian painter, writer, and the founder of ViVismo – an expressive movement rooted in trust, intuition, and the freedom of gesture. Born in San Marco Argentano, Calabria, she works primarily with acrylics, using bold outlines and expressive brushstrokes to bring her ViVe to life: dreamlike feminine presences that carry stories of emotion, resistance, and transformation.

Alongside her painting practice, Loredana is a published author of several novels and collections. She currently lives and works in Italy, where she also teaches literature.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My ViVe are not portraits. They are presences, women who manifest themselves on the canvas with their own identity, their own colours, and their own voice. I do not decide everything about them. There is a part of the process in which I let myself be guided by what emerges, without trying to correct it or bring it back to an image already established.

Painting with eyes closed means shifting attention from what I see outside to what I feel inside. It is an act of trust. For a moment I give up the need to know in advance where I will arrive, and it is precisely in this renunciation that I find a form of freedom.

Each ViVa is an encounter. And, as happens in the most important encounters, not everything can be foreseen in advance.
